The A(F)TM (Automated Fortune Teller Machine) is a converted ATM that prints out customized fortunes following user input. Playing with the dual meanings of the term fortune, the project deals with issues surrounding technology, cyber-security, mysticism, and the romanticism of the unknown. Beyond forecasting their futures, participants are asked to consider the implications of entering their personal information into an unknown machine in an age of data collection and heightened concerns over online-privacy.
